Generation of Transition Class Models from Formal Queueing Network Descriptions
نویسنده
چکیده
A main feature of a novel tool is described, the algorthmic translation of formal queueing network descriptions into transition class models. Transition classes are a highlevel modelling paradigm for the structured and compact definition of Markov chains. Transition class models can be solved with many known solution techniques for Markov chains, exact and approximate, and simulation, even hybrid analysis is possible. The queueing network description language and the translator are extensible with respect to new network features, for example new node types. The tool is extensible with respect to new modelling paradigms and new solvers. Models can be multi-paradigm.

Performance characteristics, such as response time and throughput, play an important role in defining the quality of software products, especially in the case of real-time and distributed systems. The developers of such systems should be able to assess and understand the performance effects of various architectural decisions, starting at an early stage, when changes are easy and less expensive,...

In this paper, multi-class dynamic PERT network is considered as a queueing network, where the projects are similar and new projects are generated according to a Poisson process. Each activity is performed independently in its corresponding service station with exponential distribution by one server from several servers settled in service station based on FCFS (Fist Come, First Served) discipli...
متن کاملMax-plus algebra models of queueing networks
A class of queueing networks which may have an arbitrary topology, and consist of single-server fork-join nodes with both infinite and finite buffers is examined to derive a representation of the network dynamics in terms of max-plus algebra. For the networks, we present a common dynamic state equation which relates the departure epochs of customers from the network nodes in an explicit vector ...

This paper describes the MQNA Markovian Queueing Networks Analyser, a software tool to model and obtain the stationary solution of a large class of Queueing Networks. MQNA can directly solve open and closed product-form queueing networks using classical algorithms. For finite capacity queueing models, MQNA generates Markovian description in the Stochastic Automata Networks (SAN) and Stochastic ...

We present the implementation of a methodology for the modeling, analysis, and comparison of software architectures based on their performance characteristics. The implementation is part of a software tool that is called TWOEAGLES, which extends the architecture-centric tool TwoTowers – based on the stochastic process algebraic description language ÆMILIA – and integrates it into Eclipse. The e...
